New Year 2023
Dear New Song Family:
First, I want to give glory to God for the grace to thrive, not just survive 2022. We held together to support one another despite our challenges; for that, we are the better. I cannot put into words what the Lord has shown me concerning the spiritual growth of the ministry as we committed ourselves to prayer and fasting, tithes and offerings, and the support of leadership. My prayer for New Song Church going into 2023 is that we will remain steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor. 15:58).
The one thought that keeps coming to mind for us is to “stay the course.” God has big plans for New Song Church that go far beyond just hearing a Sunday sermon. God wants us to make a difference in this world, beginning with West Allis, Milwaukee, and the surrounding suburbs. He instructed me not to change the name of the ministry upon my installation as lead pastor because people will come from miles around to receive a new song. With that, I believe God has a purpose and plan for New Song Church at this hour.
The theme God gave for 2023 is, “The Time is Now” (Romans 13:11). It has been pressed upon my heart to put a strong emphasis on evangelism. To that end, we will focus on reinforcing the foundational responsibilities of the Church regarding reaching the lost and provide opportunities to share our faith. Those who heed the teaching and endeavor to obey it will see the power of the Holy Spirit move in their lives like He has not moved before. They will literally change from one level to the next! I encourage you to confess even now a “change in status.”
I, along with the leadership of New Song Church, am prayerfully expecting great things to take place in your lives in 2023. I encourage you to lay hold of the possibilities that are before you by faith.
Happy New Year!
